Ruby Harris

Mrs. Ruby M. Harris, 73, of Xenia, Illinois, passed at 2:15 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, Illinois.  Ruby was born on November 2, 1941, to Ray and Eilene (Henson) Jones in Zenith, Illinois.  On December 21, 1957, she married Buck Harris at the First Christian Church in Flora, Illinois.  She spent her life as a devoted homemaker to her family.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and animals and loved dolls and helping others.  Most of all, Ruby truly loved her family.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Buck Harris of Xenia, IL, children, Catherine Schultz and husband Greg of Reddick, IL, John W. Harris and wife Julie of Sinton, TX, Robert B. Harris and wife Lisa of Kankakee, IL, Mark Harris and wife Caroline of Kankakee, IL, sister-in-law, Elaine Wickens of Watseka, IL, grandchildren, Corey Harris and wife Leah of TX, Amanda Harris of Kankakee, IL, Leslie Denanlt of Chebanse, IL, Brandon Harris of Manteno, IL, Jessica Harris of Manteno, IL, Tyler Harris of Sinton, TX, Krista Green and husband Brandon of Kankakee, IL, Buck Harris of Kankakee, IL, Justin Harris of Kankakee, IL, and Cody Alexander Harris of Kankakee, IL, great-grandchildren, Kiley, Serenity, and Alexis, sisters, Rayleen Harris of Kankakee, IL, Gracie Anderson and husband Bob of Clay City, IL, Carolynn Coxey and husband Rusty of Buckingham, IL, and brother, Gene Jones and wife Renee of Glascow, KY.  Ruby had many treasured friends and family that will miss her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, and 1 great-granddaughter. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, IL.  Friends may call from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Kohn Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kohnfuneralhome.com.
