Mrs. Connie Jean Tolliver, 75, of Flora, IL, went home to her eternal reward on January 31, 2015, at Way Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield, Illinois.

Connie was born in Flora, IL on September 22, 1939, to Hollis and Vera Onstott.   She married L. E. “Gene” Tolliver on September 20, 1958, in Louisville, IL, at the Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, 2 daughters: Kimberle K. Tolliver of St. Louis, MO, Candy Harrell and her husband Billy of Xenia, IL; 1 son: Timothy T. Tolliver and his wife Jana of rural Farina, IL; a daughter-in-law:  Debbie Tolliver of Flora, IL; 3 grandchildren: Ashley Bissey and her husband Jason of Xenia, IL, Hunter Harrell of Nashville, TN, Trenton Trey Tolliver of Camp Pendleton, CA; 2 great granddaughters: Alexis & Mylee Bissey, and a brother: Ronnie Onstott and his wife Betty of Newton, IL.    Connie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Tyler T. Before her marriage Connie worked for General Telephone in Olney, IL, and later owned and operated a beauty shop in Cisne, IL, and then later in Martinsville, IL and also in Flora, IL.   She also enjoyed working with her daughter-in-law, Debbie, in her daycare business, and she later started her own daycare.   For several years she was a member of the Fairfield Coin Club where she was affectionately known as “The Duchess”.  She was actively involved in Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship along with her husband, which took them throughout the Midwest.  Also, along with her husband, she was a charter member of the Substance of Faith Ministries in Flora, IL.  Some of her other endeavors included running a tanning center, working in a dress shop and buying gold and silver bullion and coins.  One of Connie’s favorite sayings was, “There are a lot of things worse than death if you know the Lord Jesus, but nothing worse than death if you don’t!”

There will be no public services for Mrs. Tolliver.  A private burial will take place at Iola Cemetery in Iola, IL.  Kohn Funeral Home in Flora is in charge of the arrangements.   Friends and Family may send their condolences at www.kohnfuneralhome.com
