Ronnie Hilderbrand Obituary

Mr. Ronnie R. Hilderbrand, 75, of Sailor Springs, Illinois, passed away at 1:04 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2019, surrounded by family at his home.  Ronnie was born in Olney, Illinois, on December 30, 1943, to Delbert and Juanita (Sparling) Hilderbrand. He married Ruth (Atchason) Hilderbrand on January 3, 1964, at the Sailor Springs Christian Church Parsonage.  Ronnie worked as a roustabout in the oil fields and later as a farm hand for Laughton Farms. He was a member of the Sailor Springs Christian Church. He was a member of the Sailor Springs Ruritan for many years, where he was the “head chowder maker”.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also liked to garden and tinker in the garage. Most of all, he loved his family.   

 

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Ruth Hilderbrand of Sailor Springs, IL; children, Ronnie Hilderbrand, Jr. and special friend Kitty of Clay City, IL, Angie Spitzner and husband Bill of Clay City, IL, Gary Hilderbrand and wife Connie of Olney, IL, Troy Hilderbrand and wife Stacy of Rinard, IL, and Charlie Hilderbrand and special friend, Molly of Sailor Springs, IL; grandchildren, James Hilderbrand and wife Amber of California, Jacob Oates and wife Elizabeth of Louisville, IL, Caden Hilderbrand of Clay City, IL, Ray Sullens of Rinard, IL, Tyler Sullens and special friend Paige of Louisville, IL, Brody Hilderbrand of Sailor Springs, IL, Ali Hilderbrand of Clay City, IL, and Cooper Hilderbrand of Clay City, IL; step-grandchildren, Hanna Spitzner of Bible Grove, IL, Malachi Spitzner of Clay City, IL, Brandy Lane of Olney, IL, and Bridgett Sloan of Olney, IL; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Caden, Carrson, Ava, and Isabella; step-great-grandchildren, Kayli, Rory, Michael, Cody, Lacie, Madisson, Allison, Mariah, and Becca; step-great-great-grandchildren, Paige, Aaliyah, Brylie, Bentley, and Tenzley; and sister, Betty Eastin of Woodward, OK.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Jerry Hilderbrand and Tom Hilderbrand.


Cremation rites were accorded as per Ronnie’s wishes.  Private family services will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Ronnie’s family or Clay County Hospice.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.kohnfuneralhome.com.
