Minas Elias Kassiou, 31, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Louisville, Illinois, passed away on May 24, 2018, at 1:30 P.M. Minas was born to Dana Steinhoff Hawn in Maryville, Illinois, April 20, 1987. He was a graduate of North Clay High School in 2005, and then obtained an Associate Degree at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana. He worked for Peerless of America in Effingham as a lead man on the paint line. He was an avid skateboarder and guitarist who loved music and performed stand-up comedy. He was helping to build a skate park in Effingham, Illinois.
Minas is survived by his parents, Harold and Dana Hawn of Louisville, Illinois and 2 brothers, Adam Baglin, of Troy, Illinois and Anthony White of southern Illinois, Maternal grandparents, Donna and Jim Langsdorf of Waterloo, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hazel Hawn.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday May 31, 2018, with a memorial service at 7 p.m., at Kohn Funeral Home.
