Bernard A. Sehie

Mr. Bernard Arnold Sehie, 89, of Flora, IL, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.  Bernard was born in Clay County, IL, on April 22, 1930, to John and Vallie (Feller) Sehie.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  On April 21, 1956, he married Carolyn Hoskins, and they spent 61 years of marriage together.  Bernard spent his career as a construction laborer.  He loved racing and his family.

Bernard is survived by his children, Brenda Rinehart of Flora, IL, Carla Ellsworth and husband Ty of Baltimore, MD, Pam Burgener of Flora, IL, Tim Sehie and wife Robin of Savoy, IL, and Bernadine Sehie-Eads and husband Greg of Catonsville, MD; grandchildren, Cortez Rohr, Lacey Rinehart, Dena (Les) Cain, Katie (Jake) Rinehart, Vincent Ellsworth II, Gabrielle Ellsworth, Nicholas Ellsworth, Danielle Williams, Adam Williams, Ginger Williams, Logan Sehie, Gregory Eads III, and Lindee Caroline Eads; great-grandchildren, Marcus James Rinehart, Gwyneth Landreth, Samantha Rinehart, and Harper Rinehart; brother, Clifford “Kip” Sehie of Nixa, MO; and special friends, Tom and Beckie Kohn.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sehie, son-in-law, James Rinehart, infant brother, Harold, brothers, Tony and John, and sisters, Lorraine, Lieuzetta, and Pauline.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Church of the Nazarene in Flora, IL.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Church of Nazarene.  Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the Golden Circle Nutrition Center Meals on Wheels.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.kohnfuneralhome.com.
