Verilee Gill, age 90, of Flora, Illinois died at 11:44 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017, at her residence in Flora. She was born on October 8, 1926, in Enterprise, Illinois to Henry and Maggie Gill. She spent 29 years working at the Flora Bakery, where her specialty was baking and decorating wedding cakes. She is survived by her beloved dog Toby Lee Gill and many special friends and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her parents.
As per Ms. Gill’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a private service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the Clay County Animal Rescue and may be received at the funeral home.
