Phyllis Annette West “Aunt P”, 61, wife of her Loving Husband Charles West for 42 years, of Xenia, IL, formerly of St. Charles, IL, joined our Heavenly Father at 6:54 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Good Samaritan Regional Healthcare Center, in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Phyllis Annette West was born on September 27, 1953, to Rev. Lloyd M. and Theda (Jones) Busby. She married Charles West on March 18, 1972, in St. Charles, IL, at the Church of God of Prophecy by Rev. Oost. Phyllis was a waitress for many years, as she loved serving people. For the past 7 years, she had been traveling across the country with her soul mate and loving husband. She had the gift of gab and has never met a stranger. She would start up a conversation with anyone and before you knew it, they had become fast friends. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known to all that loved her as “Aunt P.” She had touched the soul of all those she met from coast to coast. The most caring, giving person you could know. She always put others before herself, even until the very end.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Charles of Xenia, IL, 2 daughters: Jennifer Holland and husband Todd of CA, & Diana Baber and husband Bill of Dekalb, IL; 5 grandchildren: Brett Doyle, Hannah Holland, Haley Holland, William Baber & Savanna Baber; 5 Step Grandchildren; Rachel, Zachary, Gabrielle, Alexis, & Cassandra; 2 brothers: Calvin Busby and wife Tina of Mattoon, IL, & Donnie Busby and wife Connie of Sycamore, IL; and 2 sisters: Judy Manella and husband August of St. Charles, IL, & Janet Watson of Xenia, IL. She is also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins, brother and sister in laws, nieces, & nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Lloyd M. and Theda Busby, and 1 brother David Busby.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis West will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Kohn Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Xenia, IL.
