Nancy Dee Clark

July 27, 1938 ~ July 26, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old


Mrs. Nancy Dee Clark, 78, of Flora, Illinois, passed away at 6:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at her home.  Nancy was born on July 27, 1938, to Dick and Mary (Vincent) Craig in Olney, IL. 

She graduated from Olney High School and went on to study Education and earn her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Eastern Illinois University. In June of 1968, she married Ted Clark in Albion, IL.  She taught in Indiana, Noble, Albion, and lastly, Flora schools, from which she retired in 1993.  After retirement, Nancy ran Renaissance Travel for 10 years. 

She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, member of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization for many years, of which she was president in 1987.  Nancy helped set up SWAN in Olney which is still in operation today.  She was a big supporter of the Flora Academic Foundation’s Appleknocker Festival.  She was a dedicated member of the Flora First United Methodist Church where she served on nearly every committee including United Methodist Women, Church Council, Nurture Committee, Lay Leadership Committee, Vacation Bible School, and Food Committees. 

Nancy is survived by her daughter, DeAun Blumberg and husband Sam of St. Louis, MO; sons, Scott Kermicle and wife Tina of Dry Ridge, KY, and Rhett Kermicle and wife Lisa of Morganfield, KY; grandchildren, Harry Blumberg and wife Heather of Colombia, MO, Joe Blumberg and wife Lauren of Chicago, IL, Audrey Winston and husband Bryan of St. Louis, MO, Ashli Key and husband Rick of Georgetown, KY, Jeremy Kermicle and wife Brittani of Owenton, KY, and  Katlyn Jeffords and husband Thomas of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren, Eden, Hannah, Harrison, Walter, Hayden, Elli, Nolan, Axl, and Athen; special nieces, Kim and Pam; and daughter of choice, Susan Markman and husband Bill of Albion, IL; and grandchildren of choice, Stuart and Katie Markman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Judy Miller.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Dundas Cemetery in Dundas, IL.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.  Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the Flora Academic Foundation and may be received at the cemetery or funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.kohnfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are in care of Kohn Funeral Home.
