Dr. Keith E. JenKins, noted physician, 59, of Flora, Illinois, died Monday morning, March 30, 2015, at his home. Dr. JenKins was born in Oakland, California, on November 15, 1955, to Eugene and Helen Elaine (Runyon) JenKins. On October 10, 2009, Dr. JenKins married Patti Jo McCullough in Nashville, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate degree from Washington State University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. His residency in family practice was completed at St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Colorado. Dr. JenKins was the medical director of the Clay County Hospital Clinics in Flora and Louisville, Flora Gardens Care Center, and Flora Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians board certified and Illinois Association of Family Practice. Dr. JenKins was a longtime, devoted fan of the Oakland Raiders, and enjoyed Star Wars, building computers, cigars and Irish whiskeys, and movies. Dr. JenKins loved to travel with his wife and family, especially enjoying Disney cruises and trips to Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Dr. JenKins is survived by his wife, Patti Jo JenKins, daughter, Eevin Elizabeth Judkins and husband John, step-daughter, Sarah Lynn Johnson, grandchildren, Delaney Grace Judkins, Roan Patrick Judkins, Carrie Marie Riston, Brianna Jo Hamm, and Deanna Kay Auxier, mother, Helen Elaine (Runyon) JenKins, sister, Laura Rodriquez, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Shirley McCullough. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene JenKins and mother of his daughter, Patricia JenKins.
As per Dr. JenKins wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private family service will take place. A celebration of life memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois.
