Mr. Eldon E. Bailey, 84, of Flora, Illinois, passed away at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Clay County Hospital in Flora. Eldon was born in Flora, IL, on December 3, 1932, to Foy and Virginia Irene (Dennis) Bailey. He married Lois Toshiko Doshida at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan on December 21, 1956. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. For 22 years, he proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from which he retired on August 31, 1973. Eldon was an avid skeet shooter.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Lois Bailey of Flora, IL, daughter, Frances Krutsinger and husband Larry of Owens Cross Roads, AL, grandchildren, Erin Jones and husband Kent of Richmond, TX, Jamie Morris and husband Joshua of Odenton, MD, great-grandchildren, Avery and Ty Jones, Sydney and Kate Morris, sister, Glenda Irwin and husband Don. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, IL. Interment will immediately follow the ceremony with full military rights accorded at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
