Mrs. Carolyn Jean Sehie, 79, of Flora, Illinois, died at 5:29 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, Illinois. Carolyn was born on January 22, 1938, in Flora, Illinois, to Clyde J. and Pansy (Dudley) Hoskins. On April 21, 1956, she married Bernard Sehie at the First Christian Church in Flora. Over the years, Carolyn worked at various businesses in Flora which included Kern Manufacturing, Spartans, the Holland Truck Stop, West “Y” Restaurant, and Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Clay County Hospital Auxiliary and American Legion Post 14 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Flora Church of the Nazarene and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Flora. She was an avid cook who loved to bake pies, cinnamon rolls, and homemade rolls. Most of all, Carolyn loved her family.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bernard Sehie of Flora, IL, children, Brenda Rinehart of Flora, IL, Carla Ellsworth of Catonsville, MD, Pamela Burgener of Flora, IL, Tim Sehie and wife Robin of Savoy, IL, and Bernadine Sehie-Eads and husband Gregory of Catonsville, MD, grandchildren, Cort Rohr of Carbondale, IL, Lacey Rinehart of Catonsville, MD, Dena Rinehart of Urbana, IL, Katie Rinehart of Salem, IL, Vincent Ellsworth, Gabrielle Ellsworth, Nick Ellsworth, all of Catonsville, MD, Danielle Williams, Adam Williams, and Ginger Williams, all of Flora, IL, Logan Sehie of Savoy, IL, and Gregory Eads III and Lindee Caroline Eads of Catonsville, MD, great-grandchildren, Marcus Rinehart of Flora, IL, Gwyneth Landreth of Urbana, IL, Samantha Rinehart of Urbana, IL, and Harper Rinehart of Catonsville, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, James Rinehart, brothers, Stanley Rodgers, Clyde Robert Hoskins, sisters, Marilyn Sledge, Faith Pugh, June Rose Trago, and Melba Dulaney.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church or Flora Church of the Nazarene.
